DIY LAUNDRY DETERGENT
Non-Toxic Laundry Soap with Natural Stain Fighters & Odor Removers
Give your laundry routine a major upgrade with this simple, eco-friendly blend of natural ingredients that tackle tough stains, odors, and fabric buildup. This powerful combination works wonders in replacement of store-bought premixed detergent and can be made for a fraction of the cost.
Ingredients:
Serenity Soap
Borax
Washing Soda
Epsom Salt
Baking Soda
Directions:
Mix the Ingredients: Shred the soap with a cheese grater or knife. In a large bowl, combine it with Borax, Washing Soda, Epsom Salt, and Baking Soda. Start with half the box, bag, & bar. Stir them together until well mixed.
Storage: Transfer your DIY laundry detergent into a container, I prefer glass. Repeat step 1 with the remaining ingredients and layer together. Store in your laundry room with a scoop similar sized to a tablespoon.
Using the Detergent: Add 1-2 scoops of the powder mixture to your washing machine for each load.
Vinegar: Keep a jug nearby for particularly tough loads. Add 1 cup of white vinegar to neutralize odors, soften fabrics & work out stains.
Why It Works:
Serenity Soap acts as the base cleaning agent, replacing detergent
Borax softens water, neutralizes odors, and boosts soap performance.
Washing Soda cuts through grease and grime, and stubborn stains.
Epsom Salt helps fabrics feel lighter.
Baking Soda deodorizes and regulates pH levels, keeping clothes fresh.
Vinegar works as a natural fabric softener and eliminates musty smells.
Tips:
Buy 3 LB bags & boxes for all ingredients listed above.
This blend is safe for all laundry types, including delicates.
For tough smells, consider soaking your laundry in a mixture of water and vinegar before washing.
Give your laundry a clean, natural boost that’s tough on dirt but gentle on fabrics!
